12-pint Mayco Elements Glazes Set 1 (ELKT2P) includes one 16 oz. (473 mL) jar each of EL-103 Sea Spray, EL-119 Burnished Steel, EL-120 Black Ice, EL-121 Copper Adventurine, EL-122 Malachite, EL-123 Patina, EL-124 Stormy Blue, EL-128 Wheat, EL-130 Sea Green, EL-132 Rust Red, EL-133 Autumn, and EL-134 Mirror Blue. Layerable, low fire (Cone 06-05) Mayco Elements "EL" Glazes produce lush, organic, earthy hues. These nature-inspired liquid ceramic pottery glazes are designed to simulate the aesthetic movement and interest of mid-high fire glazes in a Cone 06/05 oxidation kiln firing. Elements are two-tone glazes with both a main color and a secondary color called a float. When applied to detail pieces, the float will appear in crevices. Shake for 5 to 6 seconds before use; apply 3-4 coats, brushing in the same direction. Glaze application and firing temperature will shape and influence the outcome of finished work. Firing hotter (Cone 6) produces interesting effects but also changes the color. Glazes vary from matte to gloss with subtle variations in each color; generally, Burnished Steel, Patina, and Stormy Blue have a matte finish, while other colors in the set have a gloss finish. Some glazes will move during firing; take care when applying on vertical pieces. Elements Glazes can be used in combination with Mayco Jungle Gems Crystal, Mayco Stroke & Coat Glazes, and Mayco Foundations Glazes. Note: Black Ice, Burnished Steel, Copper Adventurine, Malachite, Mirror Blue, Patina, and Stormy Blue are not dinnerware safe.
